East Meets West Cuisine

Your menu will vary depending on the number of guests and the time of day, but consider adding some of these traditional items to your table such as dumplings, sweet and sour chicken, Asian noodles and sticky rice.

Traditionally served during the Moon Festival, moon cakes (1) are another option.  Place them in clear containers (2) found at Michael's and place a flower on the top for a favor idea.  Other dessert item are making square cakes (3) decorated with flowers or buying a large fortune cookie (5).  Smaller fortune cookies can be placed in a clear bowl with light pink and blue jellybeans for color.  Serve warm tea in a white tea kettle (4), as well as coffee, wine, soda, or punch.

With all the colors of your table cloth and various flowers, there is little need to have flashy dinnerware.  Use solid colored paper products in shades of cream or light pink.  Serving dishes can be white or clear.  Add jade colored beads to a glass jar to hold chopsticks.
