Black Magic

Assuming your teenager will be attending a Valentine Dance prior to this event, you will want to make the atmosphere welcoming and romantic for their return home. If you plan on decorating a bonus room or a basement for the event, be sure to remove any furniture that might interfere with mingling and / or does not match the other decor.

Rent or borrow three to four smaller bistro tables depending on the number of guests and the size of the room. Cover the tables with white linens and place an overlay of black damask material. (1) All chairs and sofas in the room should be covered with white linens. Tie large black satin ribbons around the chairs.

Hang paper pom poms (2) from PomLove in colors of "Teenage Heartache." Order enough to cover the whole ceiling with little white showing from above. String white lights in the room anywhere appropriate such as ceiling trim or potted plants.

Tables should be decorated with plenty of cream candles. Use hurricane vases for additional safety, as well as to add an extra touch of glamour. Use flower arrangements in black magic including dark red roses, black lilies and pink berries. Also from Target, add an Eiffel Tower wire sculpture to each table.
